The holiday season and new year are always a welcome mix of family traditions and new beginnings. Every New Year’s Eve, my family and I blend the two together by making a vision board for the new year. We gather old magazines and start cutting out whichever pictures, words, or phrases catch our eye and represent our goals and dreams for the following year. By the end of the activity, we each have our own vision board. We use it as a useful reflection of what is important to us as we look ahead, and as a valuable reminder to see on our wall throughout the new year.
My vision board is often decorated with, among other things, pictures of far-away places and promises of adventure! This year, however, my board did not have this regular theme. In its place, I have many images and phrases that represent relationships and connections with the people in my life. My relationship to family, friends, workmates and clients are all incredibly important to me, and, in the final equation, they are what define the quality of my life.
2019 has already been a year filled with new relationships for me. This was the first full year for Dallas North Group, and relationships define the very core of our business. Jodi and I have grown to trust each other as much as we trust ourselves, and we offer that same integrity, friendship, and genuine care to each of our clients. And as we have helped more people, we have started to build our team, too—bringing on Meagan, our superstar social media expert, and Alecia, another top performing agent!
As 2020 comes to a start, the theme for this year is VISION—we are in 20/20 right?! Vision = being intentional about how I am with the people in my life. And that starts with me. I am committed to finding a healthy balance between work, family, and self-care as we continue to grow our Dallas North Group team. I am also looking forward to continually learning more about the market and the industry so I can better serve my clients. I am truly excited about all of the possibilities that lie ahead!
